Note that nothing stops them from fixing it themselfs, if they want to
accept invalid metadata during registration. So it's not about them
forcing someone else to do something.

If you've decided to own the problem (i.e., fix their metadata) be
sure to also perform any signature validation yourself (assuming the
metadata is signed). There are tools noted in the wiki that will help
(MetadataCorrectness).
