Validation problem <md:EmailAddress/>

I have problem to validate IDP metadata that includes empty email
addresses. The metadata is fetched dynamic from a larger federation of
IDP:es with a MetadataProvider and Url.

The validation problem seems to occur with the following metadata-section.
<md:ContactPerson contactType="support">
<md:EmailAddress/>
<md:TelephoneNumber/>
</md:ContactPerson>
If I download the metadata and remove this, it works fine.

my shib_warn.logs tell me

2014-01-05 16:28:18 CRIT OpenSAML.MetadataProvider.XML : maintaining
existing configuration, error reloading resource
(http://xxx-.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xml):
Metadata instance failed manual validation checking.

2014-01-05 18:28:18 ERROR OpenSAML.MetadataProvider.XML : metadata instance
failed manual validation checking: EmailAddress must have TextContent.


Can I some how change the validator to accept the empty emailAddress
element. I still want to be able to dynamically fetch the metadata and I am
not able to convince the federation operator to update the metadata.
