It's still true that a default Shib SP won't accept non-standard
values for eduPerson(Scoped)Affiliation, so if you insist on using
non-standard ePSA values you'll need to adapt your configuration.

The hint about metadata was just meant to potentially address the more
general problem of none of the scoped attributes coming through.
(Since you didn't provide log messages or any other technical detail I
just spelled out the most common reasons why you're having that
problem.)
