And 4 - build a new metadata provider plugin that does what you want.

Otherwise that looks pretty accurate to me.

Ian is the only member of the project actively working on it at the
moment. I don't know what level of interest there will be from the
membership longer term.

Like any open source project, contributions are welcome subject to our
policies for licensing reasons, but getting commit access depends on
establishing a track record and long term relationship. You're welcome to
join a dev call sometime if you'd like to discuss it.
