Modifying SAML attribute name when releasing attributes ?

  We're working with an SP vendor that wants some basic information such as
FirstName, LastName, E-mail address, etcc...

 We really do have attributes such as sn, givename, email, ...

However, it seems that in the SAML response examples they give us, they want these
things labeled  "Attribute Name="FirstName",  Attribute Name="LastName", ...

is it possible when releasing these attributes to specify the SAML label name different that what is in the attribute-resolver.xml file ?

 Also, they seem to want so specify :
          NameFormat="urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:attrname-format:basic"

Is this doable without really defining new attributes in the attribute-resolver file ?
