The version you have depends on the IdP version. 2.4 moves to 1.5, so
whatever environmental problem you have is specific to that version.

This really is not a Shibboleth issue, there's something wrong with your
box, we just don't know what because it's never happened before.

Where are you getting Java? Are there any other Java versions installed?
