I should say that pending some feedback from users, this is probably going
to be the "semi-official" path forward for Java 7 support for V2. We don't
have the resources to really put an alternative together, but would
probably put this into a more "supported" category than a typical
contribution would be. We haven't discussed it much lately, but that was
the underlying reason for asking it be packaged.
