"SAML response contained an error" for one user

One of our users is reporting an error signing on to our (Shibboleth SP
protected) site. Looking at the native_warn.log, all we can see is that the
SAML response contains an error; I can't find any further detail in the
other logs. I've contacted the IdP to see if they have any further info
around those specific times, but is there anything else I can do to
investigate on the SP end? Any way to save/view the troublesome responses?

For most users sign-on is working fine, though looking at the logs I did
notice one or two of these errors per day.
