Multiple copies of an attribute?

I should add that yes, we deal with multiple value attributes all the time - not a problem...

That doesn't really mean anything in SAML terms. If you want to talk about
a specific XML expression, we can do that, provided I know how you're
extracting it.

To say "multiple copies of an attribute" in SAML terms would strictly
speaking mean:

<saml:Attribute Name="ŠRole">
    <saml:AttributeValue/>
</saml:Attribute>
<saml:Attribute Name="ŠRole">
    <saml:AttributeValue/>
</saml:Attribute>

That isn't advisable (it's sort of precluded by the standard), but it
probably happens.
