Hostnames fake & EntitiesID

Dear all,

I have two questions:

1- What is a good detailed approach to fake 2 hostnames in the same machine?
2- Is it possible to simply use localhost for both SP and IdP in the same machine and get them communicate?
I mean using for example https://localhost/IDP for IDP entityID and https://localhost/<https://localhost/IDP>SP for SP entityID in configurations.
