As a general rule you should not be using the metadata profile service
location for anything but initial verification that you have things up and the
IdP knows itself.

The IdP does not query the container so it does not care what jetty is
doing with ports.

In your relying-party.xml file is where you tell your IdP what metadata
it should load for itself. I'm guessing 8443 is listed in that file..
