what version of Java should be used for installing IdP 2.3.8

Hi all,

I have  a quick question and hope to get help from here. From the IdP installation guide, it mentioned that tomcat needs to have openJDK java version versus GNU version.

When I installed IdP 2.3.8, it also asks for JAVA, which version should I use?  I used JDK that downloaded from Sun site. My Idp did not start, but it did not give me any error logs either
from tomcat or IdP itself.
