Shibboleth IdP integration with Oracle 11g Identity Federation

At the moment none of our integreated SPs asked for different formats,
however you are correct, in future we never know, I just wanted to check
whether it is a must in SP side or whether can SP change it unless it is
really required.

If we are to change in IdP side, what is the best way to handle it without
impacting currently integrated SPs,

Also looking at captured SAML request, yes you are right that is a SAML 2
request, my bad, I missed the namespace, however what I want to highlight
is, I am not able to see
AssertionConsumerServiceURL tag in the request, that is what I felt it is
very different to the SAML 2 requests we get from other SPs, What are your
comments on that?

Even we fix this (nameId Format), I am under the impression there is also an
certificate issue in SP side probably loading our IdP certificate which is a
self signed certificate.

Just to give the context of this exercise, the client got oracle partner web
applications and there is a need to have SSO with our Authetication system
(CAS),
our IdP is linked with CAS and we have given our IdP details (meta data and
provider Id) to configure their SP,
