Hi,
IMHO, a good way of doing it is to chain SharePoint > ADFS > Shibboleth
IdP > CAS.
already done it. Documented by Microsoft.
Note: SharePoint does not support SAML as a protocol but rely on
WS-Federation. While Shibboleth IdP does not support WS-Federation.
That's why we have to bridge SharePoint with Shibboleth through ADFS in
order to translate the protocols.
You can perhaps shortcut and delegate SharePoint authentication to CAS
by a HTTP module or handler. In this case, it is a CAS question.

In what roles are these meant to interact? I'm guessing CAS as the
authentication service for a Shibboleth IdP and SharePoint as a
resource protected with SAML (possibly the Shibboleth SP)?
As such CAS does not factor into this at all (and a seperate question,
mildly off-topic here and better suited for a CAS support forum, would
be how to use CAS for authentication of a Shibboleth IdP).
If CAS is meant to be protecting SharePoint the Shibboleth IdP could
probably used with CAS' SAML1 support and SharePoint doesn't factor
into this (as far as tihs list is concerned).
There probably are other combinations concievable.
