Scripted Attributes slow?

I recall Chad on list saying that this would never be a bottleneck..
We make pretty good use of scripted attributes and have never had a slow
down. Some of my scripted attributes even pull from a flat file. (that
has to be slow :)
Our IdP's turnaround time is roughly 600 ms after the authn phase.
When it is peak semester occasionally I will see 1 sec after authn..
It always takes people longer to type there password in correctly than
the turnaround at the IdP.
