Thanks, Scott. I have forwarded the error to the Idp operator and asked them to check the logs for that date/time that the error occurred. It's an ADFS system. We'll see...

Depends what the IdP sends it.

All it could log is exactly what the user saw (not saying it shouldn't,
just that any logging would echo that exact info). The IdP is the one that
knows what happened or why, if it didn't provide any additional error
detail.
The tran log changes in 2.5 also include support for audit logging of
protocol errors, by the way.
