Shibboleth SP Leading to 404

WebLogic is a container, just like IIS and Apache are. It also provides the
capability to perform SSO, and you can configure managed web server within
WebLogic to support IdP or SP activities. My particular setup has a mix of
Java applications and .NET applications, so WebLogic provides the IdP
support and SSO for the Java applications, and the Shibboleth SP is hooking
into the IIS side to include the .NET applications in SSO.

I figured out what the problem was, and it makes me feel like an idiot. In
the event someone else encounters this problem: all I had to do was reboot
the WebLogic managed server to get the SSO communication up and running.
Thanks for the help on this, because otherwise I'd have spent many more days
beating my head on the desk trying to figure out what was wrong with the SP,
when the SP was actually working perfectly.
