SP metadata expired?

None, EZProxy isn't Shibboleth.

If it's working, then the metadata isn't really expired, which probably
means you have a duplicate copy of the metadata loaded from some source
where it is expired.

Expiration has nothing to do with relying-party.xml, it's a metadata issue.
