Renewing certificates on windows installation

Obviously I have silently assumed the following:

plus mention of SSL at the "ISA server" (?) to only refer to
browser-facing TLS/SSL.
I suppose most wouldn't even notive when their trust fabric (SAML
signing) certificate expires (unless non-MetaIOP-aware software barfs,
of course),
