Unable to establish security of incoming assertion

Hi Scott,
If you don't mind me asking, which element in the log made you realize that the IDP need to sign. i need this info so i can follow up with the IDP.

As I surmised, that IdP is broken. It's not signing anything, so that's
the cause of the error.

There's nothing you can (or at least should) do. The IdP needs to sign
either the response or the assertion.
