Shibboleth in a z/OS USS environment

Thanks so much for the info and candor. I will now concentrate on the ability to use SAML in the web based product we are trying to install in our z/OS USS environment for authentication.  Thanks again

Ah. Considerably less likely to work then, but it really depends on whether autotools includes the necessary support. It will probably still take patching of makefiles, and I kind of suspect code.

Usually the place to start is OpenSSL, because their makefiles are a disaster and if that can't be made to work without huge effort, the rest is a waste of time. When I couldn't even get it built on AIX, I gave up on that particular port.
