assigning eduperson based on memberof

I'll check out the mapped documentation thanks. 

Is the syntax correct with the following? I can't see why it just wouldn't work.
"                if (value.equals("student")) {
                    eduPersonAffiliation.getValues().add("student");

Mapped would be my suggestion, though I can't imagine the script could be acting that oddly, something else must be involved.
