shibboleth - stopped working after package update

Define "does not find it".

There are no differences between the versions that would affect this, so something in your Apache configuration isn't running the same. Your original shib.conf is preserved on an upgrade now, as Is everything else in the configuration, so there's nothing about the upgrade process that would explain such a change. As long as both halves are restarted by the update or manually, that's all that matters.

Of course, there is no situation in which anything should need to access metadata that way. I assume however that other handlers also "are not found" in whatever way you mean.

You will need to turn up native.logger and Apache logging to find anything out I suspect.
