/Shibboleth.sso/Login protected, but /Shibboleth.sso/SAML2/POST doesn't seem to be protected

An update: 
I have not been able to uninstall shibboleth SP.
(shibboleth-sp-2.5.0-win64.exe on Windows 2008 R2 & IIS 7)
the uninstall process starts and reaches a point where it says "Deleting
Files" and then the message displays "Status: " (with a blank status) and
the progress bar hangs with no more progress at all.

shib does not uninstall; and viewing Task Manager, I can see 3 processes
running :
- msiexec.exe with 00 cpu time
- msiexec.exe with ~07 cpu time
- msiexec.exe *32 with ~09 cpu time

those processes run indefinitely. Pressing Cancel on the uninstall process
does nothing, I am forced to End Task from task manager. 

is this a known bug? if so, is there a solution? instead, is there a manual
process I can follow to uninstall shib?
