Audit Logging and MDC Variables

I was looking at moving the audit logging to a database using the DBAppender via a jndi connection.  When looking at logback for this it appears that it would be helpful to duplicate a number of the machine parsable pieces of the audit log as MDC variables.

I few things I was wondering:
-Has anyone made extensive use of the DBAppender for the audit logging?
-Any advice in general about the DBAppender?
-Any concerns about adding a half dozen or so MDCs for logging?
