OSU Stateless Clustering & SecurID dependency

I'm evaluating the OSU Stateless Clustering plugin, with only the 
LDAPLoginSubmodule & VelocityFormLoginSubmodule (listed within 
osuext.xml). I've excluded the KerberosLoginSubmodule & 
SecurIDLoginSubmodule as this deployment isn't using Kerberos or SecurID.

I've started from a working deployment before adding the extra 
components. All good until a successful authentication event, then the 
IdP web page reports an unspecified error and Tomcat's localhost log has 
the following error:

SEVERE: Servlet.service() for servlet StatelessAuthHandler threw exception

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: edu/internet2/middleware/shibboleth/jaas/securid/SecurIDPrincipal

Plainly I'm missing a class. Some creative googling returns this

Considering the date of the post (2007), is this still a valid plugin 
source for use with IdP 2.4.0?
Do i need to make any changes to this source?
The README mentions the RSA SecurID engine library, and makes reference 
to a SecurID license.
I don't have either; what are my options?

Or am i totally on the wrong track?
