If you are not clustering your session data then you have to use sticky sessions at your balancer.
There are ways to cluster your session yes. Or ways to avoid the need to do so.
Look at the "production" section on the wiki.

Does the IdP require sticky sessions on an Apache load balanced
environment in order for an authenticated user to maintain their
existing session? If yes, is it possible to swap the in-memory
management of authenticated users and service providers to a database
