strategies for testing module compiled from source

Hi,
We have rebuilt the Shibboleth SRPM on RHEL 5 against Oracle HTTP
Server (OHS) 11g. The build appeared to complete successfully and the
binary RPM was installed.
The shibd daemon starts and appears to run as expected.
When OHS is started it appears to start normally and load the module.
A 'lsof -p' against the process(es) shows that the module .so file is
opened. Also a zero byte native.log file is created in the configured
location when OSH starts up.
Despite making the usual configuration changes for Apache/OHS the
module is not intercepting requests sent to the URL path
/Shibboleth.sso/. The OHS server is otherwise running as expected.
What strategies can we pursue to further test that the module is
properly loaded and "listening"?
Thanks,
Scott K
