How to test Open SAML

Your question is hard to answer.  I think you should start with a basic overview of how SAML works, and then examine your use cases and what you want to accomplish using SAML.  These resources might help.

Then you can move on to determination of whether OpenSAML is the right choice for you implementationally speaking.
