can I reuse my old metadata ?

Hello All,

I'm new to shibboleth and was asked to upgrade our SP version .We upgraded
our SP from 2.3 to 2.5.1 . Our idp is using the old metadata from 2.3. Is
there a way that I configure my SP so that it uses the old metadata and I
dont have to refresh the IDP with the new metadata?
