Increasing logging in IdP 2.3.6

To all,

I have edited the logging.xml file on my Shibboleth IdP 2.3.6  (running under JBOSS 5 on linux) to increase logging from WARN to DEBUG and INFO.  I have waited for over 45 minutes and it has not picked up these settings.  Is there something else that I need to do.
