That's not quite the case. 

Without this extra option it doesn't work at all. So I've amended the Jetty Install documentation to include this option. 

Unless the software install is somehow inherently different, which it may be due to a patch to 7.6 then this is the correct way to install that particular container.

There's no documentation that should say it doesn't work. It's just a bad idea that will cause lots of confusion for lots of people so it's not the approach we use.

The answer is to do it the way you prefer to based on an understanding of your container and your needs.
