You don't /have/ to use anything.

This list is only about the Shibboleth software components/products,
not about pysaml2.

If you needed help deciding which SAML software to chose you could ask
specific questions that are not clear from reading the documentation
alone.

Seperate from what? To do what specifically?

Usually you'd install the Shibboleth SP software on the very same
server as you run your resource in (the one to be protected by
Shibboleth).
