Shib 2.3.8 installation testing

Hi Shibboleth experts,

I have installed shibboleth 2.3.8 by following the instructions on <https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/SHIB2/IdPInstall>.
However, i am not sure how to test to see whether my installation is OK.

Here is my case:
http:<host>/idp/profile/Status (returns OK, however, in the idp logs, it indicates that depreciate URL)
https://<host>/idp/profile/Status<https://%3chost%3e/idp/profile/Status> (got a 404 error)

Does this mean my installation is good or bad? I thought 404 error indicates a problem, but yet I got OK from http://<hostname>/idp/profile/Status<http://%3chostname%3e/idp/profile/Status>.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
