If I end up in a federation setup, I expected my idP to forward the 
request to the other trusted idP, or using my own "login" thingy (LDAP) ?

I hoped that I could have multiple SP on a single idP, and multiple 
idP's in the federation, and in that case I may need to direct requests 
from one of my SP (resources really) to a idP in the federation, or ... 
sigh ... have I again misunderstood this ?
