I don't understand why people think they need to encode the customer's
name into the DNS name of the service or that that's a good idea.
Partitioning the namespace to distribute load probably just means
you've failed to distribute the load in other ways (i.e., it's a
hack, same as when people started hading our unique IMAP server names
to users when they weren't able or willing to provide a unified
namespace that handles load distribution without pushing it onto their
users.)
There might be deployments of a size where that's one of several
mechanisms to spread the load (and/or others fail to scale) but I
doubt any of those are relevant here.
