Directory-based MetadataProvider

Is there a directory-based IDP MetadataProvider implementation?

FilesystemMetadataProvider seems to read only one xml file.  Could it be configured to read a directory of files or a wildcard set of files?

The behavior I am looking for is a MetadataProvider which monitors and reads a directory and reads any files there for Metadata xml.  I know I can probably accomplish the same thing with a script which reads the directory and concatenates the metadata into one file, but I want to see what the alternatives are.
