Firefox at it again?

I totally forgot about that option, I've never actually used it.

Yes. But I'm still highly dubious of your claim, and I can't reproduce it.
I just tried it, and no matter which close method I use, the cookies come
back if I select that History menu option.

This is despite not having it restore them on startup. That means,
apparently, they're "there", just not active if I don't use that option.
Very confusing.

So my mistake, apparently those "clean" options in the settings really are
necessary to even try and dump them.
