That was my original plan, but the installer doesn't show the error
dialog until after it's rolled back the changes. It goes from "starting
services" to rolling back, then when it's done it displays the error.
Might it make sense to let the user choose to disable the rollback
functionality? The install wizard could show a checkbox in one of the
steps before the install starts, say. It would clutter the user
interface a bit, but wouldn't affect people who just want to click
Next, Next, Next, Done.
