Yes, but 'would say minimally invasive integration with an EA.

Is there some documentation on this? gives us more flexibility. 
As an alternative, lets say we have used standard installation and
would like to subsequently recompile the war file, what is the best to go?

Actually we got a little understanding from standard msi based installation
and config.
