shibd abort in Solaris 10

I've built shibboleth-sp-2.5.0 under Solaris 10 using gcc 3.4.6, but am
getting a core dump in shibd due to a signal 6 as soon as the apache
module tries to redirect. Here is the backtrace:

> Core was generated by `/usr/local/shibboleth/sbin/shibd -u shibd -g shibd -f -c /usr/local/shibboleth/'.
> Program terminated with signal 6, Aborted.

Any suggestions for how to proceed? I'm starting to run out of ideas.
