passing credentials as a query string

Does the Idp software support initiating the SSO process by passing credentials via query string?  For example:

User goes here: https://www.someIDP.edu/Shibboleth.sso?uname=somename&password=somepassword&service=www.mySPsite.com

And is not presented with a form to gather the credentials.  Is that possible?
