log files

If by default install you mean RPM, then the shibd logs are in that
location once it starts running and manages to parse a configuration
successfully, which can be easily verified by command line. If they aren't
there, shibd isn't running (and presumably never ran).

The module logs are in /var/log/httpd only if permissions are changed to
allow it.
