It's not supported in the sense that the command line isn't guaranteed to
be stable at this point. It does initialize the entire SP, yes, otherwise
it couldn't provide the actual attribute results that a comparable input
to the SP would produce.

An adaptation of one of the ECP clients written in Perl or Shell? With a
few tweaks I would think you could adjust the XML there to be an attribute
query.
