SP session initiation endpoint

With the Shib 2.4.3 SP, with the following config in the ApplicationDefaults/Sessions section of the shibboleth2.xml:

  <SSO 
             discoveryProtocol="SAMLDS" discoveryURL="https://wayf.incommonfederation.org/DS/WAYF">
             SAML2 SAML1
  </SSO>

will accessing the default session initiation endpoint of "/Shibboleth.sso/Login" with an entityID specified as a query string still override falling back on using the discovery protocol? Or do I need to retain a specific default entityID in that SSO element (and/or drop the discovery service specification) to get the behavior of directing the user to the IdP specified in the query string?
