PS - just for the record,  my IdP tomcat is running behind Apache (requests forwarded from apache to tomcat).

I'm just saying that unless you understand Apache very well, it's
extremely easy to get it wrong. This assumes you're running the IdP behind
Apache. If not, then it's not such a big deal.

Nope. Everything is in that topic I posted. Your cookie exchanges are off.
Only you can diagnose that.

Grab Firefox, Live Headers, and your issue will be clearly in those logs.
Session cookie set, cookie not sent back. You just have to find out why.
