Discovery Service/WAYF v1.2.1 Shibboleth service provider and simpleSAMLphp - cannot recognize federation metadata

May I once again seek for your help.

We are using a CDS/WAYF v.1.2.1 (we still use this due for a valid
purpose) - as far as it is concerned,
a federation metadata (well, the one that contains metadata for Idps
AND SPs) is significant.

Then we have here a federation that uses a different SSO platform
called simpleSAMLphp. They have
provided several links to their metadata but they seem to be
incomplete for the CDS/WAYF and we cannot use them.

My question is, as a service provider using a Shibboleth, can we still
be able to display their federation and their
Idps in our CDS/WAYF page? Can we still use the url to their
incomplete federation metadata for shibboleth2.xml
MetadataProvider's url/uri attribute? Or should we ask them for the
complete federation metadata?
