I always wondered why that was part of the docs. I've never needed
the Status handler for anything really.
Accessing https://site/Shibboleth.sso/Session (or Logout or whatever)
shows just as well that shib processed the request, though it doesn't
have the plethora of software version information Status has.
(But unless you mandate your SPs to open up the Status handler and
track software versions systemtically I find there's no use for the
Status handler at all and so I never deal with adjusting ACLs).
Maybe a page full of "stuff" has psychological advantages over "A
valid session was not found." (but then the IdP only said "ok" on the
old status handler). Or it might even cause new support requests with
regard to why no valid session was available. Oh well, you just can't
win.
