Shibboleth.sso/Logout questions

Regardless of what IdP authenticated a user, and regardless of whether
the IdP in question supports SLO or not, I would like to initiate logout
by redirecting to
<mywebsite>/Shibboleth.sso/Logout?return=<myReturnAddr>

Via this mechanism can I tell Shib SP to only perform local logout if I
know already that the IdP doesn't support SLO? I.e. does the handler
support a "&type=local" query string, or something of that kind?

Or does Shib SP look at the session's IdP entityID, determine if it
supports SLO, and performs only a local logout if not (without throwing
up an error screen)? If this is the case then that's good enough,
although having something like "&type=local" might save Shib a bit of
work.
