SessionInitiator relayState attribute

Is there a list of possible values for the relayState attribute for the
SessionInitiator element, for the SP side?  I think the default is 'cookie'
but we are working with an IDP that is passing relay state as a form
variable.  I need that value to show up in my session somehow.
